BIO
Melanie began her career of videography serving as a camera operator at her church while in high school. After several years of camera operating, she leveled up and started serving as a video director, as well as a service director. There, she learned about camera techniques and shot composition, how to communicate shot types in a fast-paced environment, and how to lead a group of multiple teams. She knew this was the field for her, and dove in.
Melanie earned three A.S. degrees at Sierra College in 2020, and graduated as their first Film Production student in the history of the school. She then transferred to William Jessup University and graduated in December 2022 with her Bachelor's Degree of Cinematography, along with a Project Management Certificate. She was hired by Hume Christian Camps MarCom (Marketing and Communications) department, and worked as their Ponderosa (high school camp) Recreation videographer for two summers and Meadow Ranch (middle school camp) videographer for two summers. She is now part time year-round, filming the adult and school ministry wrap up videos, winter and summer camp videos, and theme videos.
Currently, Melanie is working as a Director of Photography, and freelance videographer, editor, and photographer. She works as a contractor for Hume Christian Camps as a Director of Photography and Camera Operator for the yearly summer camp theme videoes.
She is also booking portrait shoots, and weddings.
Melanie's dream is to one day own and run a production company of her own.
