BIO
Melanie began her career of videography serving as a camera operator at her church while in high school. After several years of camera operating, she leveled up and started serving as a video director, as well as a service director. There, she learned about camera techniques and shot composition, how to communicate shot types in a fast-paced environment, and how to lead a group of multiple teams. She knew this was the field for her, and dove in.
Melanie earned three A.S. degrees at Sierra College in 2020, and graduated as their first Film Production student in the history of the school. She then transferred to William Jessup University and graduated in December 2022 with her Bachelor's Degree of Cinematography, along with a Project Management Certificate. She was hired by Hume Christian Camps MarCom (Marketing and Communications) department, and worked as their Ponderosa (high school camp) Recreation videographer for two summers and Meadow Ranch (middle school camp) videographer for two summers.
Currently, Melanie is working as a part-time year-round videographer for Hume Christian Camps, and freelancing on the side as a Director of Photography, editor, and photographer.
She is also booking portrait shoots, and weddings.
Melanie's dream is to one day own and run a production company of her own.
